In 1976, the Czech New Wave philosopher and director Evald Schorm came to the Na zábradlí Theatre. He stayed there for twelve years, until his death. He raised a generation of actors who were aware of their own personalities. In The Brothers Karamazov, the then compact acting ensemble performed in full force on stage. Schorm created from ban to ban (Hamlet, Macbeth, The Brothers Karamazov, Marathon) and in front of Zábradlí, there were queues for tickets in double rows all the way to the Vltava embankment: when the subscription began, people slept outside from midnight until ten in the morning, when the box office opened, in sleeping bags, they brought fishing chairs to the theater. A ticket to Zábradlí was more valuable than Tuzex vouchers...

The ship's first officer, Karel Kip, and his brother, engineer Petr Kip, are convicted as mutineers for the mysterious murder of the captain of the ship James Cook. However, thanks to the intervention of the governor, they only receive life imprisonment in a penal colony. There, they build a hot air balloon with which they escape. The brothers remember that a phonograph was left on the ship, which could be used to identify the captain's real killer...

Young and single Tatyana is living the life of enjoyment: her career in advertising business is on the rise; she spends her days with friends and her nights at the trendiest clubs; no family or kids obligations until the age of 35. However, one day her carefree existence is shattered by the news, that she has a brother and a sister, who became orphans after the death of Tanya's father and his latter wife. Tatjana is the only relative they are left with. The life of the glamour girl is drastically changing, as she struggles through ups and downs of the parental life and quickly comes to realize that raising kids doesn't easily mix with hanging out with friends. Endless tears and pans of burnt porridge later, Tanya changes her own self and her attitude towards life.

Lyuba, a medical student, has just lost her beloved mother. Very soon Lyuba learns that her careless father, a rake and a drunk, is not her biological dad. The desperate girl starts searching for a real father, whom her mother's friend told her about. Contrary to the fears, her father and stepsister Katya warmly welcome her and accept her into the family. In addition, she finds a true love - her new boyfriend Andrey is very serious about their relationship, and in her dreams Lyuba is already walking down the aisle.. However, all plans are ruined by a fateful combination of circumstances: Andrey turns out to be her sister's fiance.
